Pancakes and Daffodils
Life at school continues at a pace and it was lovely to see Reverend Dan, from St Michael’s, come in to do our assembly on Tuesday. His main message was talking about Lent as a time of preparation and thinking when else we may have time to prepare for things (exams, holidays, babies), but being Shrove Tuesday, or Pancake Day, he had to start the assembly with the three house captains seeing who could toss their pancake the highest and still catch it in the frying pan! Well done, Ethan, who was a very clear winner.
Tuesday was also St David’s Day (the patron saint of Wales) and Early Years and Years 1 and 2 celebrated the day by making daffodils, a traditional flower for this festival. There were some amazing flowers made, and fully appropriate for the start of Meteorological Spring.
The real daffodils have also been blooming this week around the school and the neighbourhood.
